75:43Mr. Metadata isn't the only one with leftovers, & I'm sure we all have a bucket or 2 of songs that
didn't make the cut for a particular mix (or series)...so then...#9: elements...with an edge.
An exploration into some, uhh...louder bits of jazz-n-ether begot this stepped-up, black-sheep, 1/2
brother to the series packed with tunes that I winced at when cutting from previous playlists. That Hancock album
has always been a fave of mine, along with the Miles' track (mmmm, John Blake's electric violin, too)...and MM&W have
yet to disappoint. Rock...er, Jazz-on!
(Thanks to
lostinthejazzmix for the Eberhard Weber track)
Feedback:
Wow, very nice!
Just saw Frisell a month or so ago -- awesome gig. Really like the eclecticism here. I should go back and re-listen to that early Marsalis stuff, too. Good stuff, gene.
Very nice. great cover also.
Great set of floor sweepings, Gene
Lovely.
another nice addition.
what orchid sayed!
Yes, very nice indeed.
Thanks for the comments.
This gets really loud & busy near the end. I'm sitting at a traffic light, on the way to the office this morning;
windows opened, volume 2/3's cranked, taping the beat on top of the steering wheel & the dude in the car next to
me (in the left hand turn slot) gives me this look, like "Really IMMATURE, man"...
The light turned green, I winked @ him, downshifted...and took off!
;-D
Edward- those early Marsalis albums are some of my favorites from him -- haven't kept up with him since
"Black Codes...".

Looks delicious. As ever! And the cover is extremely cool. I like the 11 - 13 stretch a lot!
black codes is wonderful - love the frisell too.
Missed this the first time around. The date is around the "last" major computer crash. This is a masterpiece to my ears.
