For a birthday mix this is some pretty melancholy mix. Maybe I'm just projecting, but most of these songs at least have a TINT of the sorrowful. Don't get me wrong - I like it. Just saying, it's not what I expected from a birthday mix. Personally, I prefer my b-days poignant and reflective, like your title suggests, so I dig what you did here. Great Lake Swimmers, Iron & Wine, and Clem Snide belong the same mix
