Comment:
Some of my all-time favorite songs, transfered from extremely crackly vinyl. These are the songs that I inevitably start forcing on dinner guests when I've had one too many of something or other.CONTEST: Besides the John Lennon tunes, two of these songs have the same composer. The first person to name the composer (and songs) wins a free copy!

Feedback:
Looks fantastic Orchid. As for the quiz, I'll go with Bob Crewe (Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You and Let's Hang On). Will you invite me to dinner if I'm correct?
Looks great Lucie...although for some I'd hope your dinner guests were allowed one too many too ;~)Haven't a clue about the question but I'd guess it's someone like Don, Baz or Rod singing an older song.
Damn! You have to get out of bed early to beat that Moe fella, dontcha ever sleep?
ooh, this is nice. some classic tunes for summer lovin. ;)
That bastard Moe beat me to the answer. Apparently I need to get up earlier than 5:50. Anyway, I like most of these songs in one way or another, although I will most definitely pass on anything related to Frankie Valli/Four Seasons and most of Mr. Manilow's oeuvre (although he knew a good Ian Hunter song when he heard one).
Yeah, lots of great songs here.
Very nice, indeed.
Glad to have made you chuckle (Worse Than Coal For Christmas Volume One- HERBIEHEAD). This one was from last year (2004)Volume 2 is in the works for this year. August maybe a little early, but certain retail pharmacy chains start selling artificial Christmas Trees and related items in August, so why not this ?
Moe wins again! Okay Moe, you're invited to dinner, along with wife, barbies... the whole crewe! (sorry)
Much to like here Lucie..esp Walker Bros, Diamond & Buckley!
Yes, lots of very nice picks.
A lot of these songs are decent, but only just over a third of them (the Beach Boys, Nilsson, Buckley, Marvin, Beatles, Them, Steely Dan, Walker Brothers and Persuaders tunes--and YES, I saw that pitiful piece of MOR garbage that John Lennon called "Woman" here) are better than anything that I can think of on a Lemonheads album. ;-) (Oh, before anyone else gets their tit in a wringer over the alleged "tone" of my remark--don't worry, somone will--consider the fact that Orchid and I are friends, at least the last time I checked, and that I'm "responding" to another post.)
perfect, of course. love on the rocks? i'll take mine neat.
C'mon Rob. Barry Manilow is better than the Lemonheads?! What are ya smokin' over there in Pittsburgh?
I meant to say -- The Lemonheads are better than Barry Manilow?! What am I smokin'!?
I see what you're doing O and I dig it like a trench.
look at this one! tracks 2|5|8|12|17|18|22 were all on the radio when I first started paying attention. I'm stopping by Golden Oldies after work to see if I can score that Manilow 7" and maybe "Read Em and Weap" as well. brilliant. I'd love to have these songs forced on me after dinner.
