Comment:
All selections are title tracks from albums. I've wondered why an artist or group decides to name the album after a particular song. While certainly not obscure, these selections may not be the first songs that come to mind when considering the album of the same name but yet they must mean something important to the artists. I purposely did not include the obvious hit singles titles or the well known classics titles such as London Calling, Layla, Let It Be, etcWhile putting this together it was also interesting to note how many artists and groups never or seldom use a song as an album title track. This mix turned out to be several sets that work well together.
Feedback:
Great selections, MetaMan!
(cool concept, too!)

I agree with Gene.
Another agree ;-)
Nice concept & execution.
Great Idea and very, very well done.
Interesting idea, great selections.
Seems like an obvious theme - now - but this is the first time I've seen it done. And you done it well George!
Great lookin' mix George!
Which came first - the album title or the song title?
Nice collection, Geo.
Nice collection, Geo.
Looks to be the start of a great series, George :)
Excellent, Geroge, excellent! Your pick is my absolute favorite Steely Dan song. I've got friends coming down (from Philly) to stay with me for the anti-Bush protest march on Sept 24 in DC. You should be there! Do you have any antiwar mixes you think we should be playing the night before?
very nice!
The titleists made soem good choices here. Mm, speaking of title tracks - I seem to remember a story about Bob Dylan being asked why he had so named "John Wesley Harding" and he said that it was such a little throwaway filler song that if he hadn't made it the title track no one would have even listened to it. Perhaps he was once again pulling someone's leg.the album
a lots of good picks here
Great! I also find it interesting to note which artists use, or don't use, title tracks for albums. Or where artists get names for their songs, if they're not obvious in the lyrics: e.g. New Order used to drive me nuts because I couldn't remember the names of any of their songs, the titles of which were often nothing to do with the lyrics. I love lots of this - The Jayhawks, the Bunnymen, Wilco, Blur and Belle and Sebastian to name but a few. Definitely looking forward to the trade! :)
Verry nice. And good notes all around!
great theme mix ! the feedback discussion has also been interesting. the idea of titling an album after a throwaway track is enticing, but i also agree that the song title doesn't necessarily come before the album title. just like a mix theme / title can arrive before the particular songs are selected ??
