Comment:

This was a quick one, done on the fly after a long hike in the park. Despite what appears to be an underlying break-up theme (at least in parts, although I wasn't really "going" for that), I'm dedicating it to gaucho/krautfreak in honor of our music-geek bonding night last week and as a nod to our similar mixing styles. I know that he'll appreciate the no-frills flow of this one--it doesn't jump through hoops to get your attention and (on paper, anyway) the juxtapositions aren't as "out there" as a lot of my mixed-genre mixes, and it doesn't stretch itself to include lots of geek-pleasing obscure artists. Just a good, old-fashioned, eminently listenable batch of tunes assembled in an order creative enough to hold one's interest but not disrupt one's concentration. Plus he used that Judee Sill song on his most recent mix, reminding me (in tandem with a friend of mine here playing it a few times in a row last Saturday) of how fantastic it is. Thanks to mckbrd for track 5 and to my friend Ian for tipping me off to the quality of that Lambchop song. Title from the Carpets--at least that's what I like to think they're singing (it could be "worth" or "word," I suppose).

I've felt some nothingness in my work recently, but a mix like this could help me through the most meaningless of tasks. Love that opening triplet & that Judee Sill track always makes a mix better. Is that new Modey Lemon?

I'm sure he'll love this - and that Lambchop song really is great. You kick off with one of my favourite tracks, which segues into another of my favourites...hell, I wouldn't mind this either! ;)
