Oops, opening this with, as Mr. Con-Roy puts it, 'mechanized, repetitive, supremely overrated techno-pop by a group who has based their entire career on a three-song template' usually preferred by people who offer 'cryptically "benevolent" yet back-biting "insight" to demonstrate both their affinity with hithertofore unheard-of levels of pretension and pseudo-psychedelicized bullshit'(whatever that means) might be too humble an offering to His Serene Highness and indeed insult his most refinded taste which is beyond even the slightest shadow of a doubt. Now how'll ya get yer friggin' foot outta this? ;)

Fun. Don't know the Vic Goddard but even the title has a certain rhythm.

did rob say that about new order? heh. well, he had best accept it cos i bended my usual "no first songs off albums as first on a mix" rule to put it where i did. and anyway, there's a place for mechanized, repetitive, supremely overrated techno-pop in everybody's cupboard.

Hey, I *like* New Order, just not as much as Joy Division. And His Not-so-Royal-Contrariness can shove his little dig up his oh-so-tight Anglo-German arse (funny that he read the second comment he quoted as being about him, as it wasn't). ;-) This looks fantastic, man--thanks for bending your rule for me and for producing one of the greatest custom-made mixes that anyone has ever done for me. And I love your title. :-)

My, Kong Roy, your chest must be all red `n raw from the extra-hard beating you're giving it 24-7. You've been playing the obnoxious fifth-grade bully for quite a while now, and not just with me. You probably haven't realized this, but believe me: it's just as boring as it is annoying. I don't know what makes you think you got the right to gripe the piss of anybody who doesn't share your thoroughly mediocre, play-it-safe, run-of-the-mill, five-million-flies-digging-a-mile-high-pile-of-shit-can't-go-wrong taste in music. I don't know what your problem might be or where you think you got less than your fair share from life. I don't know what's wrong with you, and frankly, my egocentric lil lawyer pal from Zombieville, I don't give a damn. One thing I know for certain, though: Whoever looks up the word "prick" in the dictionary will find a full-color mugshot of you.

Funny, your picture, Herr Mower, is next to the word "prick" in plenty of people's dictionaries around here (oh wait, I could be wrong... wait, it's next to the word "blowhard" in my dictionary of slang... sorry). And you're right--no one would never accuse you of "playing it safe" musically because you intentionally, constantly choose the High Camp/unlistenable route to distinguish your taste from others' taste. Talk about fifth grade... oh wait, that's more of a secondary school thing... "Look at me!!! I'm DIFFERENT, damnit! DIFFERENT!!!" At least I don't feel the need to adjust my tastes to differentiate myself from others--I like what I like. And how posting a response to a comment that you've posted here on 800 or so occasions (talk about "boring") is "bullying" you is still a mystery to me. I just thought that I (who happen to have a differing, equally valid opinion on the Joy Division/New Order matter) would address you in the tone that you use consistently on this site. I shouldn't have to get shit from you and a few others here because you've misread the general tone of my postings in the past (I wish I could access a pool of my comments posted here as proof that 98-99% of the stuff that I've ever posted on this site is POSITIVE). Anyone from this site who's met me will clearly back up the fact that my actual, life-size description in no way meets the image that I get saddled with here. I doubt, however, that any of them wants to get locked in a flame war, and hey, neither do I. So I disagreed with you about Joy Division... so fucking what? This bothers you enough that you have to go onto others' mixes to complain about it? Get a life already.

Whew; I'm digging this. Of course, I dig most of Rob's mixes AND most of Mohr's. So I must be a non-discriminatin' philistine. Ah well. but I'm enjoying the fireworks along with the tunage.

Yeah, this is my sort of thing. The NO kick-off rocks (to echo Shawn, can't we all just get along?!), and the Futureheads and Afghan Whigs picks are great. Love the cover. All-around top-notch.
