Let's Stomp!
Comment:
Been outta the mix, so to speak, for a few weeks. The youngun's getting bigger and keeping me way busy. Plus, I landed another teaching gig doing history of science - a personal love o' mine. This mix is nothing earth-shattering; your standard trash-o Lally mix -- great tastes that go great together. Speaking of great taste - thanks to Joey d V for Los Locos. What else...? "Fox in Socks" is, of course, a maddening read of the Doc Seuss classic. That Yardbirds track never fails to get me screaming and playing air guitar in the car. Jimmy Bryant is a giant among men. Deke Dickerson is a young god. Martin Denny reissues should have all of us jumpin' for joy. So without further consternation ... Here 'tis, the rock AND the roll!Feedback:
By the by.... if anyone is in Columbus, OH saturday night, come check out TEEN RIOT at the Voodoo Juke Joint. We'll be rippin' up the place!
A standard Lally mix is still pretty damn good. Nice mix.
Jimmy Bryant is thee maaan. And if I had to name all the other cool artists on this one, I'd have to copy the track list. So let's leave it at an admittedly lame, "Great stuff all around".
Magnetic boots may be in order to effectively stomp since some of these songs are a bit spacey, but I'm loving it; especially that
...Coasters tune (my finger hit the enter key by accident? -spaced out finger)
I've got my boots on! Very nice. Was just in Columbus last Friday, sorry to have missed you.
gimme a drink and a I'm in
Wow. Great, great mix!
Woo - this is sweeet! Young 'un's gonna grow up with a great sense o' rhythm.
Stompin' good stuff!
DAMN FINE as ever Mr. Lally!
Lots of fun on this mix. I'd love to hear that Nappy Brown tune. Are Jim & Tammy the Bakkers?
Looks very cool.
Looks great, Sean - your "standard" mixes are pretty much top-notch for most! I've never heard the "Fox In Socks" track, but would love to - the Ramones and Yardbirds picks are also great.
Stomp that trash down! I was diggin' a good deal of Dr. Seuss when Nate was a tot as well. Still genius despite the best efforts of his estate to tarnish his name with the crappiest of film adaptations.
You should always keep both hands on the wheel (and your eyes on the road), so I can't recommend the whole air guitar thing while driving. Better to do it in the safety of your own home. Anyway, even with the cuddley diversion of a baby, you're still bringing us the rock, and for that we are eternally grateful.
This looks like a blast. I love that Monkees song, in particular.
Looks very fun. I love trash-o-lally mixes! Good luck with the teaching gig.
All kinds of good stuff...
This looks fab! You and Jenny will have us all rockin' and boppin' around the house!
oh my god. "Space Guitar" Nothing in the history of time has rocked harder than that. Teach them youth well, Mr. Scientitian.
Looks like a great party.
