Comment:

Needless to say, it has been tough at work as of late. Aside from the pointless and meandering assignments handed to me by bosses, it seems I am surrounded by uninspired, unskilled, sycophantic, brown-nosers and over promoted idiots. Honestly, after some soul searching, I have been wondering if what I need is a career change more so than a different place of employment. But, what else could I do? What would I WANT to do? So once more I am seeking refuge in song. In this mix you can follow the life of a marketing creative in crisis. The songs speak of beginning each week filled with disappointed and longing for something else; a story of frustration with the duplicitous world of marketing and advertising, followed by Walter Mittian fantasies about retaliating or running away, even if it meant having to find some McJob for a while or going "postal" then becoming a "rock'n'roll star", in the end realizing am just waiting for the end of the day and that I will do it all again, tomorrow. Conspicuously left out, due to lack of space, Gary Newman's " We Are So Fragile"; I love the line in that song "advertising lies that are whiter than yours"

Welcome to the working week, perfect. Quasi, Sleater-Kinney and Le Tigre have more songs in this vein, I mean, for the part two. Because working will always suck and you'll be forever surronded by idiots. Great stuff, if I ever get a job that requires me to leave my bedroom, I'll make something similar, I guess.

Hey, fabulous mix! Makes me want to throttle my boss. And I like that the only intersection between this and my "Finest Worksongs" mix is a non-album track by the Police. What are the chances? Wanna trade?
