Comment:
Inspired by ITV's The South Bank Show On Sophie Calle.Dear Sophie,
I am 40 and in a relationship. I live in the UK but getting to Paris should prove easy. If you send me precise details of where you'll be, at what time, I shall stalk you. I do not find you remotely attractive, but your French accent could prove to be my undoing. As a matter of fact, I found you absurd. I presume that's what draws some men to you and repels others. I liked your absurdity. Further more, I like the way your eyes cling to the past. I should imagine that Paris contains many women who look like you but you should know that I am loyal. I am especially loyal to heartbreak. You are heartbroken Sophie. Know this, I am not a jealous man. How could you have begged Paul Auster to instruct you how to live? I repeat I am not a jealous man. I audibly retched when that idiot child Damien Hirst took delight at your strip-tease. I am sorry Sophie but until further notice you should resist seeing both these men. They have no role in our tale. I do not wish our art to be pickled for Japanese Tourists to photograph or be the entrTe at a literary soiree in one of those ghastly New York Lofts. Understand Sophie, this is temporary, but marriage can be discussed.
Your's temporarily,
Dominic
Sophie Calle Born in Paris in 1953. Her work includes photographic installations and text and are a direct response to her personal tragedies. Her work began while in California where she photographed 2 graves marked Father & Mother. She thought this might be something that `her father might like.'After a 7 year hiatus abroad she returned to Paris and began tailing people. Photographing them and meticulously recording their habits, letting them take her on a journey - leading her to parts of her native City that she might never have journeyed to. She also hired a private detective to follow her. She worked with the novelist Paul Auster who wrote her a series of instructions that took her to New York and resulted in transforming a phone box into her home. In 1979 she worked as a stripper and had a friend photograph her. Works include Suite Venitienne (1979) Address Book (1983) Red Shoe (2000) The Sleepers (2003)

Feedback:
Ha! I'm sure you'll be hearing back from Sophie soon. Keep us posted.
Send her my way, D. She is closer to my age. Great mix as always. Especially the Kate Bush, Ann Miller and Laura Nyro.
Fuck, this is genius. Nothing more to say.
Really nice, exp. Lou Reed and Nico
Your mixes have been actually stunning. Thanks for keeping me inspired.
A source of un-ending delight! As usual.
Dom, how cool? <br?I'm still chuckling 24 hours later . . . .
I guess if one is to be stalked, this is about the best way it could happen. Really great mix.
I like it Dom. Fairest of the seasons will always be a favorite of mine.
Hilarious & wonderful! I wonder if she has good taste in music? If so this should win her heart.
