Comment:
The title is inspired by the artistry of mix master Deeky, who in a rush to get out the door in '04, forgot to bring the cranberry sauce to Thanksgiving dinner. This ecclectic mix explores both the ideal and reality of freedom, thus asking the question: how much is too much and when is there ever really enough? For example, I felt that MLK, Jr's "I have a Dream" speech made the perfect counterpoint to WSB's "A Thanksgiving Prayer". By placing them next to each other, I attempt to illustrate just how diverse freedom of expression can be. Also, the Stones' "I'm Free" celebrates the joys of freedom whilst Devo's "Speed Racer" takes the idea to absurdist extremities. The follow up CD to this is titled "A 2nd Helping 4 Deeky". The cover is a redux of some deeky art as well. - Rumi '05
