Jazz’s leading ladies past and present step up to have their say about the holiday, with blissful results. Peggy Lee slips on some high-heeled snowshoes and sashays through “Winter Wonderland” with enough sassy, sexy style to make snowmen turn their heads. Modern-day siren Holly Cole isn’t exactly a wallflower either — listen to her slink and swivel with enough sensuality to send steam blowing out of St. Nick’s ears on “Santa Baby.” But the guys get their time to shine too, and jazz’s crooner king Joe Williams lays his lush, velvety sound down as soft, sparkling, and welcome as a fresh blanket of snow on “Silver Bells.”
