I seem to have always lived near (and at times on) the sea or a river, and/or in places where it rains a lot.

This looks just mindblowing. Your field recordings are always so amazing. I love all the variety too-- Bobby Darin to King Tubby to Robert Wyatt. Bulgarian Thunder on Foreigner peaks my curiousity as well....

Bulgarian Thunder on Foreigner sounds quite intriguing to me as well. Liking the Stereolab and Wyatt picks a lot.

Thanks for all the comments, folks :~)Regarding Bulgarian Thunder on Foreigner this recording was made last July whilst on holiday near Varna (not to be confused with Nirvana, which - I now realise - is a totally different place). It was a lovely sunny day when all of a sudden a thunderstorm came rolling in. Everyone rushed for shelter in the little bars along the beach and the one nearest us was play Foreigner's Greatest Hits. Making the best of the moment I started recording the thunder, though was less chuffed about the music. On returning home I edited the recording down to just the peels of thunder. So what you get is a 2 minute abridged version of said Greatest Hits plus a lot of thunder (and an assortment of Bulgarian, German & Italian patrons). :~)

This looks lovely. That Robert Wyatt song, in particular, is a real favorite of mine.

WOW! I love the water too, not that we get much rain here. Stereolab and Robert Wyatt do it for me. Cannot believe that there is a band recording under the name of Kroke - I guess he's not a vocalist?

aha... i *knew* the title of this one looked familiar! i've been trying to come up with a "watery"-mood mix myself... clearly i haven't been as successful getting anything together as you have. Wyatt's Rock Bottom album, as well as being possibly my favorite album of all time, always gives me the wonderful feeling of being sumberged (blame the cover art, maybe, but not completely by far) -- i was thinking of using "A Last Straw", actually, which to me feels more sea-like than "Sea Song" itself. (well there's also the eight-minute "Sea Song" from the Solar Flares Burn For You album... did you use that one instead?) anyhow it all looks good... this is something i'd like to hear.

Wets the appetite nicely. Especially like the Burning Spear & King Tubby tracks.
