Comment:

Reflecting on my old punk rock stomping grounds. Side one is old Philadelphia and some central Pa/Frederick Maryland bands which I saw in such places as The Love CLub, East Side Club and various firehalls and playground recreational bulidings. Side Two are more national/well known bands I recall seeing in various venues like Trenton's City Gardens, NYC's Danceteria and Pyramid. Husker Du I actually saw in a room above a McDonalds in Allentown PA.

Dig it. Punk dance hall-college-days. For me (got 5 years on ya') it was "Mother's" in Wayne; "Hole-in-the-Wall", in Secaucus and "Butterfields" in Hasbrouck Heights (where I met my eventual wife !)--the bands & tunes were a bit different..but New Wave and Punk were IT ! Nice Mix.

Oh, an' I saw Tom Petty promoting his first album--which was the only good one he ever done did--before he went "P-O-P"--@ at a bar in Passaic, NJ.

Ah, memories. For me it was on the other side of PA with bands like Half Life and The Heretics. I loved those days, pre-Nirvana, when punk/underground music was a refuge from all the bullshit of the Raygun/Bush error.

Ah yes, I remember those days ... you see I was the bass player for The Blunder Boys (we were originally known as Crib Death). I later went on to play with several Philly Hardcore and Punk bands until 1990, when I moved to MA,where I officially put down the bass. I still pull out some of the old stuff and think about the old days, before alternative didn't make $$$.

You can take the kid outta hardcore, but I guess you can't take the hardcore otta the kid!!!

Cool mix. I was the guitar player for Autistic Behavior. Glad to see someone still remembers the cool places and bands.
I miss City Gardens.
