Comment:

Here's the third all-Dylan compilation I've submitted to AOTM -- out of a total of 12 that i've done -- and really, i'm not sorry. The point of this mix is to prove, quite simply, that Mr. Dylan -- who has to be still my favorite musical artist of all time -- is as great and innovative nowadays as he's ever been. All tracks here were recorded in the period 1989-2003, during which he's reinvented himself into, among other things, as fine a folk-blues artist as has ever walked this planet. I've focused this (max one song per source CD) compilation on his bluesy material, so "Cat's In The Well" and "Summer Days" come from Bob's official 1990 and 2001 albums ahead of arguably better songs, but that's thematic unity for you. Official albums, compilations, bootlegs; hopefully all facets of Mr. D's recent career find their place here. Anyone who hears this and still thinks of modern-day Dylan as an Establishment figure, one with nothing new to teach us, a mud-stuck old dinosaur -- man, I want to hear what *you're* listening to.
