This sweetness turns a throat to rust
Comment:
My favorite 80 minutes by the first run of these fine Australian avant-popsters, compiled by request of my friend Rob. Interestingly enough, after giving their first seven albums a thorough listen, this may be the first dual-songwriging band (in this case, Robert Forster and Grant McLennan) that I've encountered where I do not strongly prefer one songwriter to another; as a result, this mix (like all but one of their albums) is pretty much evenly split between the two men. Which one do you, dear reader, prefer? Lastly, if anyone can tell me which songwriter is responsible for "Apology Accepted" (it's probably my favorite song by them and is literally the only one that I cannot gauge in that regard), I'd be eternally grateful--it really sounds like Forster singing a McLennan song, but it *could* be McLennan singing his own song...Feedback:
Nice. I think "Cattle and Cane" is my favorite. One favorite that you didn't include is "Rock and Roll Friend."
great band, I only miss "Streets of your town"
Great.
