Comment:

At last, the long awaited sequel to Kick Out The Jangles, Motherf***** -- another 80 minutes of jangly-guitar pop, the kind that dominated the college radio airwaves in the mid-80s (or at least shared it with hardcore and Europop). These were the artists of my formative years, back in my college dj'ing days when every week brought another EP from some local band (typically out of the South or maybe Boston) trying to ride the wave of R.E.M.'s success. Sadly, much of this remains out of print these days, so this time around I dug into some old vinyl, replacing some of the mainstays from the last mix (i.e. the Connells, Reivers, Long Ryders) with some lesser-known acts. It takes me back...

Fantastic, Marc. Since I enjoyed the first volume so much, I'm formally requesting a copy of this volume. Just let me know what I can send to you...

Excellent. Lots of faves here (GD, Pylon, Love Tractor, Dumptruck, dB's etc). Great and, sadly, for the most part forgotten stuff.

Great mix. I've just completed a similar mix of 80s jangle roots rock that I'm posting soon. Only one duplicate with this mix.

Wow - great Scruffy (rare!) track. This looks like a worth successor to your fab-o jangle mach 1 mix. any chance i could score this from you? i've been wanting to do a scruffy/charlie tribute disc.

Outstanding. I visited my old college radio station at SDSU yesterday, and they still have most of these vinyl records from the days that I used to spin records (in the mid to late 80s). Unfortunately most of the current deejays never play them!
