this is disc 1 of a 2-disc set i made for an old friend. he was my first real "love" in high school and a lot of our relationship was based around music and mixtapes. we recently reconnected after about 12 years and he no longer has a tape player, so i bit my lip and got back into burning cds. it was a bit of a challenge in that most of the best music i have is on vinyl, and i dont have my turntable hooked up to my laptop quite yet. i wanted to make him a mix that reflected a lot of the music i had been listening to since we lost touch and moreover, what i am listening to now. so i did the best i could with the cd collection i have. anyway. it was well-received. see vol 2 for more of this compilation.
