Comment:

The Fall Classic is upon us, and while my Red Sox couldn't manage a return to The Series, I'm still intrigued since my good friend CBlaze's White Sox have a chance to end their own epic drought. While this mix has moments of baseball love to it (The opening four tracks are the sort of tunes that could get me worked up at the start of a game)...the tunes I've chosen are more a collection of what I'm listening to now. Listening to it this morning, I realized that the last four songs have a touch of sadness to them- I'll dedicate those four songs to The Houston Astros. Go Sox! And Cheers! -Famous.

you could write what I know about baseball on the back of a postage stamp - rounders isn't it?? You could actually write what I know about most things on the back of a postage stamp, come to think of it. However, there are a couple of classics on here - esp enjoying the Faces at the moment.

Yeah, it certainly is electric down here in Chicago. When I was up by Wrigley for the New Pornographers show - there were people all over walking around with Sox caps - now normally that would NOT happen. You picked some interesting choices and blended some rock & r&b and such that upon first looking I felt lost. But as I continued to look I noticed some fine choices by the Foo's, Blur, Death Cab and an interesting cover of Refugee. I know Tom Petty's 'The Waiting' was the BoSox theme last year - but I had always had that song put aside for my ChiSox. Go WHITE SOX!!

this is pretty nice, though i know practically nothing about base ball, even though i used to be on a base ball team...it was preety much "ok, hits the ball, and run to the bases, and catch the ball, throw it to someone usefull" but still...only one question...the Hedwig track, is it the hedwig version or the tommy gnosis version (they have different lyrics)...sorry im a total hedwig fanatic.

I used the Hedwig version. Always nice to meet a Hed-Head, my GF is a rather fanatical enthusiast herself and brought me to a cool production of it in Toronto this summer.

1. Any mix eaturing JT and Snoop AND Gogol Bordello deserves some kinda award.

2. I never thought I'd see the day Famous cheers against Roger Clemens. (JUDAS!!!)

3. Any team with enough cohones to THROW a world series deserves the longest drought posible... GO CUBS!! GO 'STROS!!
