Comment:
A hip-hop mix made for a friend of mine who wanted an introduction to the genre. I was pretty stumped in my approach to introducing my friend the wonderful world of hip-hop. So, I decided to include what I thought to be some of the best work of current artists that I knew he was somewhat familiar with (i.e. Outkast, Jay-Z, Eminem) along with others that I thought he needed to hear like Blackalicious, Deltron, Handsome Boy, Dr. Octagon (whew! theres a lot of Automator on this disc, huh?) I don't know if this works as an introductory sampler, but I think it definitely works as a mix of top notch beats and rhymes. At the end of the Jurassic 5 song, there's a cool little instrumental with a sampled speech about getting into a "time machine" that segues perfectly into the Public Enemy song. I'm pretty damn satisfied with this one and I retained a copy for myself.Feedback:
Great mix....props for including "Strobelite Honey" on there.
