a loosely constructed narrative about the growing up i did between age 20 and not-quite-23, coming out of a really dark time in my life. track 1 sets the scene. the rest consists of flashbacks to a bad breakup (tracks 2-5), self-discovery and new adventures (tracks 6-8), growing up & refusing to grow up (tracks 9-11), reassurance that things have changed (track 12), closer examination of the scars still left (track 13), life revelations (track 14), symbolic death/rebirth (can you tell i'm a lit major? -- track 15), and a little bit of the present thrown in for good measure (track 16). the beginning is lackluster, the middle is muddled, but those last four tracks get me every time . . . kelly clarkson included.
