Comment:

I threw a Guy Fawkes Day party this November 5th to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot. Because Guy Fawkes Day is a British holiday, I went with all britpop music.

I tried to balance a) songs which are important for understanding the history of British rock music (e.g. Elastica, Suede); b) songs which everyone knows and wants to hear (e.g. the Darkness, Franz Ferdinand); and c) songs that I love and wanted at my party, even if they don't really "matter" or if people don't know them that well (e.g. VHS or Beta, Razorlight).

This is the first of the three mixes I played at the party.
