Comment:
Mix for Annie's youngest, Alexandra. I think she's five or at least she was when I last saw her. She's busy at the moment on the streets of Paris burning cars. So school work has been put on the back burner. Excuse the pun. I'm going to visit Annie & the children in France at Christmas. It will be the first time I've been to their house. I'm a tad nervous of Alexandra. She told her mother that if I didn't do what she said then she'd lock me in a room and nail the door shut. You might laugh. You might think she's jesting. Alexandra doesn't have a sense of humour. She means what she says and she doesn't forget. The house looks over the river. The windows don't have bars. Alexandra said I shouldn't go to the shed at the bottom of the garden because it's too near the river. I must never go alone. Never? Well, I can go to the shed if she goes with me.Enjoy...cos you can bet she won't.
Feedback:
Just keep reminding yourself Dom, you're the adult. And besides, there are worse things than being locked in a room with the door nailed shut. Right? Splendid mix as always. Love the Abba -> De La Soul -> Righteous Brothers -> Josie & the Pussycats and Neil Sedaka -> Herman's Hermits -> Tokens bits especially.
How could any right-minded female stay angry with a man who can mix like this? If she gives you any trouble, just let me know & I'll come over and get Egyptian on her!
funky gibbon!
This is quite impressive.
I hate Moby!!!!!!!! But I like this mix.
A mix of the sublime and the atrocious (well, the Goodies anyway) with the former outperforming the latter by a factor of 100
Lolly? Micky? Chinnichap? From '99? What the hell did I miss? ;) Spledid. I especially like the Shadows/Alimantado/Sedaka stretch, though I don't dare imagine what that actually sounds like. ;)
I'm thinking this will win her over.
Fun stuff. I really dig the Madness pick. I can't even imagine the Righteous Brothers doing "Along Came Jones".
For the love of...
This is like the sixth mix in a row you've put out there: all ecletic, all cohesive and all completely different.
Amazing.
And I kind of dig Moby...and hate him at the same time.

Truly fun and cool.
I'm with plushpig and the Pipkins!
Who'd have thought that you could link the Shadows of Knight to Chaka Demus & Pliers - and do it via Neil Sedaka too... & I thought I was the only one to own that version of Venus - I remember getting it free with a packet of Frosties.
Whatever happened to Lolly?

This looks just as Lally described it. Good luck!
So much! So good! I love the short story at the end, too. Or is that like a non-fiction narrative?

This mix may get you locked up. Or, it may incite a riot around the house. Or, she may love it - anyone with discerning taste would!
If you're locked up, make sure to bring this mix with you! Great stuff.
He he!
Not sure about tracks 2 & 3 on side one. Though looks like a fun mix.
Only getting to this now, Dom, but it looks great. Love the humour in the mix and as ever loads of lovely picks - like that Moloko / Monkees handoff! And the notes add a great deal to the mix itself, it must be said! Talk about contextualising.
