Comment:

Release date: 18 July 1993. This is all from Doug's CDs. Made at his parents' place in Houston before our Little Tree trek across the Southeast. I broke my rule to not put more than 1 song by an artist on a side. The cover pic is Doug in his parents' new apartment that they hadn't moved into yet. I've been fortunate to have seen a lot of these artists live, and listening to this tape again after so many years takes me back in time to some great concert outings. Uncle Tupelo, Liz Phair, and Paul Kelly at the Paradise. John Wesley Harding and AMC at the Middle East Downstairs. Richard Thompson at the Orpheum. All great live performers, all incredible shows. We had tickets to see Paul Westerberg at the Orpheum, but he cancelled due to a back injury or something, then he was on SNL a few days later. Dammit! He played Can't Hardly Wait for his 2nd number, which was great. I miss those days and old friends...

Yeah, Judybats! (& X! and Richard Thompson!) I saw Paul Westerberg at the Somerville Theater and got to sit onstage with him. He messed up the words to Unsatisfied.
