Comment:

Here then, in a nutshell, the basic rock & roll success story. Hungry young band kicks around for awhile, dreaming big rock & roll dreams, maybe gets a bit of college radio airplay but nothing big time. Dreams of that one big hit record. Finally gets a record deal, gets some promo, maybe some commercials, and the big time hits. Then comes life on the road and burn-out. Next thing you know, the manager has stolen all your money, the label drops you, and the band breaks up. And all that's left is nostalgia for the glory days.

Yeah, there are probably a million other songs that would have worked as well. These fit the disc nicely, though, so this is what we've got.

This looks great! I've been thinking of something along the same lines. As there's not much overlap, when I finally get round to it, we'll have to do a compare & contrast.

Really, really great - concept, choices, everything. You know, I heard the Bay City Rollers yesterday and realised I'm not as averse to them as I once thought I was. That was an interesting moment. The Sleater-Kinney pick seriously rocks as well as the Sex Pistols, of course.

Interesting & great. CASETTA & I collaborated on this exact theme a couple of years ago using several of these tunes... the mix is called "Sharing the Plastic Waffle"...

AwEsOmE! All the songs that should be here are here. And the songs that shouldn't be here aren't here. And no, we don't think you're shallow. ;)
