Comment:

A collaboration with Blasikin. I start, and take the odds, he punches back on the evens. I am quite pleased at how this turned out. Even if it does break mix-making rules. Rules are for assistant principals. Of course Lee Perry casts a long shadow over this, he is untouchably fantastic. Of course there are 2 songs from Caetano Veloso, the songs are so good, and so different. The Slim Gaillard track was new to me, I quite enjoyed it. Apparently he sang the words on an Armenian restaurant menu, and for his trouble; the song was banned from some radio stations for being "too suggestive." Then, we got into the reggae covers of Beatles tunes, Blasikin led off with Ethiopia, a take on Strawberry Fields Forever. I followed with The Upsetters version of Let it Be. (The dub of The Soulettes singing Let it Be) Then, some Mexican Rock and a little Iraqi pop, Bob's yer uncle, a great alternating dj mix.

That's a great story about the Slim Gaillard track. I couldn't place the linguistic root to the "Vout"...I have to say, my 'traveling companion' has a great ear for just the right follow up instrumental- #s 3, 5, and 11 were all brilliant choices.

yep - would probably appreciate this - of course, with my memory (or lack of it) I've had to look up quite a bit here - but looks good

maybe two heads are better than one . . . quite a splendid mélange.

I think those radio stations were right, though, Yip Roc Heresy
is very suggestive . . . of genius & fun.

iIs that art work by 'Nest Of Vipers'? he he. Ole Scratch is THE man in my book, so any mix with a Perryinian long shadow is right up my street.

Love the look of this - you two did a great job. The 12-19 stretch is really nice. There's an Armenian restaurant not too far from where I live...I should really try it some day. Hmmm.

To DJ Nick re your question - HTML is not necessary. You can put in aćtēиŦś without it.
