Comment:

A tribute to all things Caped Crusader - Adam West era, of course, not that the latest incarnation isn't without its charm. As a child, I worshipped the Batman, watching the 60s show religiously after school each day. I'm not the comic geek I once was, even after a brief "Dark Knight" re-birth in the late 80s. Still, I think he's a great superhero - no superpowers, just his wits and some cool gizmos. And great, great music from the show and inspired by it. The Batman themes are what you expect, all cool. The Nelson Riddle stuff is from the tv soundtrack, complete with Bat-dialogue!
This mix is dedicated to the late, great LINK WRAY, and it will have to do until I can finish the second "Think Link" volume - check my mixes for the first, if'n you're interested. {The two tracks from the Legion, my band from a couple years back, feature me on guitar and theremin.}

Link Wray, Chris Whitley, do people go in threes? I'm glad you didn't hide this in the Bat Cave.

Joker: "Then, after I've gotten rid of Batman and Robin for good, I will rule the waves. Me, the Joker, king of the surf and all the surfers. Then, Gotham City! Later, the world! "

As a fellow Batfiend (and Linkaholic) I'm digging this. Riddle me this though, where's the Jan & Dean?

Woops! I thought I commented already. Okay, now I gotta think of something clever to say. Damn it! Nothing's coming to me. I'll just have to wait for your next mix to write something that will at least produce a chuckle, or at least a smile. Anyway, beautiful mix, jokerman.

Groovy. All it needs is Jan & Dean's "Batman." Incidentally, I too am an ex-comic geek, but I did get into the whole resurgence of "grown up" comics in the mid-80s (i.e. Watchmen, Alan Moore's Swamp Thing, Sandman, Shade the Changing Man, Grant Morrison's Animal Man and Doom Patrol, and Preacher. Lotsa great stuff out there, most of it reprinted in paperback.
