Comment:

Not ripped from the slur of Cover based give aways courtesy of Uncut Magazine. Ok so Adams & Orton is but the rest aren't & imho much better for it. Some of these are well known others I hope less so. Most of these were laid down genuinely - in other words, they are, with few exceptions, irony free. It's fun folks but not an exercise in weird butchery as practiced by Miss razor fangs Nest Of Vipers in her labatory/ abbatoir. Don't get me wrong, I've entertained her creations in my own home.but there's only one NOV! When making a covers mix, I do think it is important to name the original artist(s) otherwise what's the point. A few notes: Oh Carolina was originally by someone else other than Shaggy but I'm not too sure who. The writing credit on AMG for O'Carolina is many & for Shaggy includes, bizarrely, Henry Mancini. This version derives from Shaggy's version and not the ska original, yet the writing credit is not the same. Nick Cave's Wanted Man, I'm sure derives from Cash's version which is the one everyone knows - Cave's version has added lyrics that had to be approved by Dylan. I believe Dylan has a policy that says it is okay to cover my song but don't alter my lyrics. Fairplay! Enjoy!

I love a good cover mix - which is probably just as well given the slur of them on AOTM at the moment. 'The Cruel Sea' brings back memories having met them in Beijing and Melbourne. Not sure that I think it important to name the original artist, but I can see your point for exams. Nice one and I look forward to No 2.

Fantastic! This is one of the best covers mixes I've seen around here. And I always like the details you put next to the tracklistings.

A whole slew of tunes worth hearing - tho I cannot truly believe in an irony-free rendition of the L.S. Bumble Bee . . .
