Comment:

This was compiled, as the title indicates, as a gift for my oldest friend and former DJ partner. I've known him for a quarter of a century and even though we aren't in touch as often as we'd like these days, with us living in different cities, we remain close. Every year as a Xmas gift we make each other a compilation and this is my recently completed effort for this year. Hope he likes it, I do. I know his musical tastes and unless they've changed he'll love it. Fingers crossed. The CD has a bit of a library/easy listening undercurrent which stems from my desire to explore new musically genres. I was so surprised when I first heard the Hank Marvin track on the 'Scorched Earth' compilation. Pleasantly surprised may I add. To me he's always come across as a bit cheese and very uncool but this track is very groovy. My favourite track here is 'Burning Bridges' off the Kelly's Heores soundtrack. Awesome. I've been obsessed with this song since I was a kid. Before I grew to like the film I'd always watch it in it's entirity whenever it was on TV just so I could listen to this song. It hasn't lost any of it's appeal, I'm still totally infatuated with it. Also everyone needs to hear The Osmonds 'Crazy Horses' LP which their track on here comes from. Amazing. Seriously. They may be another with a cheesy images and not everyones cup of tea but that album is stoner rock par excellence. Utterly fantastic. I may have to burn myself a copy of this CD before I send it to him. I've rambled, I'll get me coat!

There's a few tracks I don't know, but looks like you're usual quality. I would've guessed youd've liked the Hank/Scorched LP, theres also a few 'funky'/funky Shadows (not twangy) out there too. If you want I can send you a taster ?
