You're haunting me because I let you.
Comment:
For the hell of it, although this took close to two weeks to snap into place. The edit of the Butthole Surfers song (which is apparently the title of the first song on Hairway to Steven) occurs at about 7:40, just before the "You rang?"; I decided to eliminate the last five minutes, as they were too meandering and pastoral to fit the mood of the beginning of this mix. Thanks to p the swede for the MBV track, to lo-fi jr for the Groundhogs track, and to both Jana and sport! for the Betty Davis track. For those of you who haven't heard Centipede E~est (esp Shawn Porter and lo-fi jr), you really, really need to get their debut album--it sounds like the Groundhogs filtered through Black Mountain with a tad bit more of a pop sensibility (and they're from Pittsburgh, to boot!). Title from Young Marble Giants.Feedback:
Fantastic, love that 12-13 double punch. But I thought you didn't like The Doors, Rob...?
Awsome love the Pink Floyd and Janis pick. Did you get my comment on you mix "Sharring The Plastic Waffle"?
Very cool, Rob. Dig the Surfers, Betty Davis and High Rise->Young Marble Giants stretch especially. Great stuff.
Wonderful. Love the Janis -> Jam especially.
really cool - somewhat different from your more recent mixes. i like it.
Tracks 5 - 8 & the excellent MBV tune make up for the classic rot (just kidding... sorta). Haven't heard of Centipede E~est yet but combined with the mighty Modey Lemon I'm thinking there's something heavy in the Pittsburgh waters.
3-6 has me intrigued & like the look of the rest.
Lots of interesting looking picks here Rob.
I'm with George.
Definitely have to check out this Centipede E~est, then. Loads and loads of wonderful picks here. The YMG, Cat Power and Minutemene are all especially great - the whole thing really hits the spot!
your'e welcome, nice as always
This looks really nice, love the last 4 tracks, and many others too!
This is looks pretty wicked. I'll check out Centipede E~est .
