Comment:

Ee ECCENTRICS: In the world of rock snobbery, no one draws more fasination and devotion than that of the eccentric artist. To qualify. one must poseess one or more of the following characteristics: 1) be an idiot savant 2) lost your marbles 3) or avoid the public eye with obsessive passion. The information (and misinformation) surrounding the figures only serves to enhance the mystique. Only the likes of a Captain Beefheart or Roky Erickson could write "Click Your Fingers Applauding To Play". The likes of Prince and Tori Amos (who would like you to think they are eccentric but are trying too hard) couldn't come up with something that brilliant yet make $40 million bucks and Roky lives in a dump. Few artists record something so naked that reveal layers of inner soul like a Syd Barrett, Skip Spence or Brian Wilson. If we cannot communicate with them in "normal" terms, we have thier music that conveys emotions in vivid terms that few of the "sane" among us can match. What gives the life of the eccentric such fascination is the madness seems genuine. The barrier between life and art is all too fragile.

*In awe* I am in total agreement with Candra. This mix is utterly amazing. I had been anxiously waiting to see what you pulled out of the vault for "E". I had no idea it would be this incredible. Trade?

Very nice! It's always the "weird" ones who make the best music.

The whole series is incredibly good, but I think this may be my favorite installment. Which is saying quite a bit.

Great mix, daniel johnston cracks me up. I don't know if it'd fit in very well with the rest, but a very eccentric fellow is one Wesley Willis.

This one might need the "update" treatment, or a Volume 2...the Weirdos Return...
