A Guide for Alcoholism
Comment:
I was talking to someone about music at a party and he mentioned that he liked Flogging Molly. I asked him if he liked the Pogues and he said he'd never heard of them. I thought this to be a horrible injustice (partly because I don't like Flogging Molly) and made him this. For the most part it's just Rum, Sodomy, & the Lash and If I Should Fall From Grace With God, but it's got a few other selections from varying albums mixed in as well.Feedback:
very nice.
I love the Pogues.A great mix.
Hell yes - three cheers for The Pogues and this celebratory mix tribute. You mesh together their 2 best albums with aplomb, with a good sense of track transition and flow. Beyond that, this is simply wonderful music. Too bad you don't care for Flogging Molly, though. They're more or less Shane MacGowan's bastard sons. Someday I'm gonna make a mix that's nothing but Pogues, Flogging Molly, and Dropkick Murphys, to bridge the (slight) generation gap there and provide some kind of ultimate Pub Rock experience. This mix is too cool, though :) My only tiny insignificant complaint is that there's no "Sally MacLennane"
Pogues rule and great title.
I love the Pogues and this is a great mix. I posted one of these a few years ago ("I went to Hell and to the races"), if you're interested in comparing notes...
GREAT - but then, any Pogues mix would be great. Methinks you need "Poguetry in Motion", the early ep - I think it's included on the reissues. My wife's fave is the first cd, "Red roses for me".
Really well done. One of my all time favourite bands. I wont moan about any omissions (ok well maybe Rainy Night in Soho =D)as I cant imagine what is dispensable from this collection, #5 and 21 are really special to me. Brilliant mix
