Comment:

I know this may look downright awful with its clashing music genres, as it careens from dance pop to old school punk to garage rock to goofy novelties to glossy pop-punk to fucking White Lion, but bear with me. I wanted a mix tailor-made for arena-sized, balls-out jamborees. Something fun, loud, and big, and I didn't want to re-use any of the songs from my earlier mixes, and there were a bunch of recent tunes I've been listening to that would fit the bill reasonably well but which don't quite cohere as one unit. So that's the mix. I put in White Lion 'cuz I figured any true rock album needs a melodramatic ballad serving as a momentary breather, plus I've been trying to squeeze that song into a mix for a while now. I don't know why, but I love it. Also, I realize many of the bands on here aren't up to the usual AOTM standards (Everclear, Third Eye Blind, The Darkness, The Travoltas, Bowling for Soup, KISS, Andrew W.K., Foo Fighters, Puffy Ami Yumi, and Dallas Crane aren't exactly the hippest bunch of musicians, to say the least, and they certainly aren't favorites amongst this website's crowd), but it'd be disingenuous of me to deny my enjoyment of them for the sake of some nonexistent reputation. I don't have great taste in music, okay, I'll admit it. But I have a great love for it, and hopefully that shows more than anything else. If not, oh well. There's always next time.

Looks like a musical sandbox I'd be happy to play in. Great opener (I've recently discovered the joys of Junior Senior) and I'll always love Puffy Ami Yumi, even if you can find doll versions of the duo at Wal*Mart.

Doesn't look awful at all. Bangs around like a pocket full of change. It's all money man. The MC5 through Kiss run is better than 10 bucks of quarters.

I'm with the rest of these fellas. I like almost all of these tracks, including those by the Darkness, Puffy Ami Yumi, and KISS. :-) The Small Faces and MC5 songs are absolute classics.

absolutely fanatastic. oh and btw that's not a different version of "do you love me". it's the sonics covering the classic you know and love. and tearing the house down doing so.
