Tiptoe down to the holy places
Comment:
As of its revision on 1/3/06, this mix incorporates all of the post-Bilinda MBV releases, e.p.s and all. At any rate, thanks to p the swede for all of the e.p. material compiled here, aside from "Never Say Goodbye" which comes at you via the cool-as-ever Moe.Feedback:
Groovy drones. Can't argue against anything here myself. I hear Kevin Shields is up to his 500th guitar overdub for the follow up to Loveless to be released sometime in 2015.
Good band good music :-) nice work.
This is a fine example of the type of mix you do so well.
Snazzy.
Oh yes, this is the stuff. Like hemizen said, a great example of a SA mix. Kevin Shields has to be one of my favourite musicians, though he clearly is not of this world. I love and agree with the majority of your picks - come to think of it though, it's been a looooooong time since I've dug my MBV CDs out, so I think I'll have to rectify that pretty soon.
Fantastic. Though no Ecstasy or Strawberry Wine stuff? Certainly "Never Say Goodbye" would've worked!
:)
:)
Bloody great! I'm getting really tired of driving to Tower Records every Tuesday to see if the new MBV album is out. Sorry that you couldn't use anything from XTC and Wine, but perhaps it's a bit too jangley for this mix. Have you heard "Off Your Face"? It's hidden away on the Glider EP. I think it's one of their best songs.
Fantastic band. I think you were right to stick to the Creation stuff Rob... testament to their greatness that you could've added another five or ten songs to this mix, easily!
I agree. One my old favorite bands.
