Comment:

Hello. I hope your day is going well. Mine is. I'm trying to invent something, but it's not going well, and so I've invented this as an excuse. These are probably the songs I've obsessed over the most in the last year, although that does not imply this is the first year I've obsessed over them. For example the Annie track is due to the fact that I've just recently hooked my wife on her, the Beulah because I miss them, the Mountain Goats "Jenny" because, despite my love for the Sunset Tree and all it's glory, that song still kills me and it forced anything else Darnielle has ever wrought off this disc. Morrissey is there to complement Art Brut's track. Kate Bush into the Hold Steady has nothing to do with the line from "Hornets! Hornets!" but because I like how "Charlemagne" sounds coming out of "Running Up That Hill" as well as going into "Not About Love," which incidentally is the Jon Brion version of said song. "The Body Says No" because, contrary to popular opinion, althought the new new porno is quite good, they'll never top the first new porno.

Really nice stuff here. Love that Ladytron track and that Kate Bush/Hold Steady pairing is pretty great, too! :-)
