My Glorious Year in Music, Volume 2
Comment:
To reiterate, this is my favorite music from the past year. Not ones that originated in 2005, but songs/musicians that I discovered/learned to appreciate/remember most fondly from the last 12 months of my musical canoodling, arranged in chronological order of when I listened to them. Alas, I thought it would be easy to condense this project into 2 60-song mixes, but I always underestimate my lack of self-control (although when it comes to positive things like expressing love for an entertainment medium, that can't be so bad). Hence, there will be one more, 3rd mix to finish up the year. It will be able to fit onto a regular 30-track CD format, however. This one goes up to September's end, so the next one will show what happened in the last 3 months of 2005. There's an accidental symmetry/organization to these that I like - this second mix, for example, covers pretty much the whole summer and nothing before or after, so it'll be nice and convenient to reference each one by time of year.Feedback:
you must be nuts. it would take me an entire year just to put these mixes together in chronological order. anyway, this is great! nice to see oddities like Rick Springfield's Love Is Alright Tonight and Taco's Cheek to Cheek on here. and Fairytale of New York is a gem.
Could do without Jovi...but when put together the mess of awesome tracks it would probably just add some kitsch like quality.
Great stuff overall
