Comment:
I wanted to make an 80's mix that would have been something that Andy and Duckie from Pretty in Pink might have grooved to. I get the feeling they would not have been to into mainstream new wave and pop. I did however, add Madonna because Andy makes mention of "what great style" she has, and even recommended her to Blaine. Also, I don't think you cannot think of the 80's and not think of Duran Duran. I also did not want to use songs from the movie.
Feedback:
What a neat idea!
ahhh what memories, Nice Talk Talk, Love & Rockets and Mighty Lemon Drops inclusions.
I wanna be in Andy and Duckie's alt-clique. This is the kind of music I listened to in the '80s myself, and props for some bands from that era that are rarely ever mentioned these days, like Mighty Lemon Drops, Hoodoo Gurus, and Icicle Works. Some of the songs might be considered mainstream by today's standards, however (who DOESN'T know "Chains of Love" and "Bizarre Love Triangle"?), not that I mind because those are pure classics
See, the 80s wasn't all that bad...
yeah, I would've been hangin with Andy and Duckie in high school. I'd agree w/ what's been said below about the Mighty Lemon Drops tune - and your OMD, Pet Shop Boys and Smiths picks are really great too.
