Comment:
If push comes to shove & I was asked to name my favourite soundtrack composer it would have to be Ennio Morricone - not all of his stuff makes the grade, his work for Hollywood are often tepid impersonations of his earlier work for Italian Cinema. John Barry is also fabulous, though his work from the late seventies, especially for Hollywood has suffered from the same banalities that seems to affect most actors and directors who gravitate there.Feedback:
Ofra Haza that well known Israeli Yemenite! In equal parts banned and worshipped here in Dubai.Dom, these mixes are great. Loads to love here but it's made me go looking for some Randy Newman - very underrated.
way cool
Love the Sonny, Sarah, Ry, Scott, Shelly/Shorty and Pet.
Big fan of Morricone myself. This looks like it's my favourite so far, especially the Sylvian, Newton (Thomas), Mancini, Gilberto and Ry Cooder - I was watching Buena Vista Social Club yesterday and am very much in the mood for Ry & friends. Very nice!
Loved Petula in that role. Great mix Dom, I'm now off to dust down some Sabres Of Paradise.
lOOKIN' MIGHTY FINE.
Whoa.
Excellent. I'm on a soundtrack kick myself.
