Comment:
The full title of the mix is, 'Paris In Flames - Assimilation V Integration.' Inspiration for the mix came from the Paris riots of last year (dragged my arse a little in completing it) When countries over zealously practice assimilation, whilst at the same time affording insufficient importance to integration, then the results can be disasterous. Whilst I don't condone the behaviour of the rioters, I can at least empathise with the frustration that caused the riots to take place. I tried to include a few tracks that make a social statement rather than just have songs about rioting. I know Monsieur Strummer's song is about London (the man seems to have been preoccupied with London Burning!)but the sentiment fitted. Finally, thanks to Cruella for the delightful closing cover version.

Great - the sentiments here have been very well-handled, and like you said about the JS track, the songs don't necessarily have to be about a particular event for the emotions expressed in the song to fit. I'd never have thought of that Undertones pick, so well done you for including it!
