Comment:
I was originally going to attempt a mix of tracks all under a minute long, but i realised that it would've been rubbish. Rubbish i tell you. So i decided to make it tracks under 2 mins. Ah, but weren't all songs from the 60s that length? Damn. I then limited the mix to tracks released 1990 onwards. The result - indie heaven/hell, take your pick. Cd Length 51:47MIX

Feedback:
Lots to like here. This looks great, especially since I am in a rush today!
[P.S. I noticed your "dread" comment the other day. Check out this poor slob.]

Cool idea. I'm gonna have to try it. Punk-type music, like the Muffs, should probably be excluded too since their brevity is a given. Not that I wish to banish The Muffs, for they are kings. Kings of underappreciated pop-punk silliness. I should use them more on my own mixes, they need the recognition
I think I need to make a copy of this as I firmly believe my girlfriend secretly rates my sexual performance on the number of songs I last for, this could score me some much needed stud points! Oh and another thing, I always assumed the Dando fella wrote Shaky Ground and now google tells me that these Sneeze geezers did it originally, I must go seek it out! Good job Sammy.
Oh I see its Nic Dalton and Tom Morgan, ahhhh now I see. :)
Very cool.
This looks fantastic! I love short pop songs that make their point and be done with it. Props for the Bristols, Boos, Lilys and Helen Love-- and everything else for that matter. Great comment from Barrydali. Hopefully they're not listening to side-long Yes suites when they do the nasty.
This is such a cool idea for a mix
Excellent. I'm all for the constraints you put on yourself to include only post-1990 material. Lots of great choices (though I must admit I'm not familiar with all of them). Love the Vaselines, GBV & La's especially. I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with for other decades.
What a difference a minute makes!
Love the idea! Hmmm, makes me wonder... of course, a lot of under 2 post 60's songs I know are instumentals... I may just have to look into this!
this is great stuff, Time isn't everything
I'm with the swede here sammyg123.., and Barrydali really does need this---you'll be saving a relationship by turning him into a superhero, a mythic man come to life for her. Do it.
This is really neat and fun - what a great idea, too.
I now understand your love of short songs. This could very well bring us all into the sammyg world of brevity. As is often said, "small but perfectly formed". Well done yet again.
Hey Sam, great work on this one. My favorite picks: Bristols, Billy Bragg & Wilco, and Muffs. Other standouts IMHO, not counting a few I already knew: Kenicke, Bad Livers, Silver Sun, and Boutique, and that rockabilly Ricky Spontaine. #28 was funny; are you sure that isn't Mickey and Sylvia doing their followup to "Love is Strange"? You rock, man.
This is supercool, and turns out to be a great driving mix. You hit my attention span nail on the head. What were we talking about?
