Comment:

This one is dedicated to the new show that I hope sticks around, although so many good new shows don't make it past their first six episodes. It found a soft spot for me with all the musical conversation that happens in the show, and in honour of that I included the show's theme (track four by Odds). As usual, this is mostly compiled from what I'm listening to lately, with some old favorites mixed in for good measure. The highlite of this one for me has to be "Chicago" and I MUST thank my little brother for getting me into that song since it probably stands as one of my very favorites of '05. Cheers! -Famous.

Your brother does indeed deserve credit as that song is wonderful. Love seeing Jane Says on mixes too. Nice job.

Yeah not entirely sold on Love Monkey. The kid singer was terrible. The Essential Bob Dylan as the ultimate music geek gift is so offbase - not to mention that it's a sampler of Bob Dylan, not "every song Bob Dylan ever recorded". The Jason Priestly character is limp to the point of disbelief. Still I sat through it all and it seems like one of those shows that I'll watch just to nitpick. Plus I'm a big Ed fan so happy to see Tom Cavanagh in a role that suits him. From the mix, really like the picks from the Strokes, Sufjan, Kate Bush, Kanye and Mary J. schooling Bono. Good stuff.

i honestly like the dcfc track but i do bliev that it is a little overrated and definitely not the best stuff on plans. The Cure's Lovecats rocks. Green Day kind of sticks out like a sore thumb though.

Anything with Judy Greer in it has to be worth watching, so I'm with you. And although I'm sad to hear that Jason Priestley's role sucks, I like him, too, so double points. I never thought to make a mix in honor or celebration of something from another medium, i.e. TV, movie, book, but that's an interesting new idea to consider...and regardless of all that, I like the songs on here. Yeah, even though Green Day's my favorite band they do seem out of place (particularly with that done-to-death hit) but otherwise this is a tantalizing brew of solid modern radio singles and lesser-known goodies (especially liking the Odds, Morrissey, and Kate Bush). Oh, and the might-as-well-be-famous Death Cab song: don't know how much longer I can stand seeing it on everyone's mixes (including my own) but for now I still love it so I feel ya. Cool mix and theme

I dig the mix! Props for your Gogol Bordello and Flaming Lips picks. I haven't caught Love Monkey yet, but hopefully I'll see this week's episode with a special guest cameo (three guesses as to whom, lol).

Chicago is a lovely song and many others also here too. I have no idea what this show is, however.
