Comment:
120 minutes long. This album was redone by me on Feb, 17, 2008. A massive redo I might add. When I originally constructed this album there was a bunch of tracks I wanted to put on it that I just didn't have. Since that time I have managed to finagle a couple high priced cds, and I've found a ton of downloads. Now this album is constructed the way I originally wanted it to be. The series is brought back to humble beginnings again, much like how it started with Vol. 1. Every track of music on this album is from SNES games. The SNES is still without a doubt the greatest video game system of all time and my favorite. It's video game library for a single system is still completely unmatched. The amount of big name games that started on the SNES and old ones that really brokeout is staggering. This album features some of the best non-turn based RPG game music that the SNES had to offer. Koji Kondo blows our minds with 18 of his Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past tracks. Kondo also weaves 16 more magic spells in the forms of Super Mario All-Stars tracks. I went with these instead of Super Mario World tracks as to interject some old school into the procedings (don't worry Super Mario World will still have it's day in the sun). David Wise, the genius behind the moody Elm Street music for NES, is represented here with 12 tracks from the massive worldwide smash hit games Donkey Kong Country, and DKC2. No music from DKC3 was put on here, because frankly the music on that game can't hold a candle to 1 and 2, so there was just no reason to bother. One of the most beloved DK tracks of all time, get ready for laid back excellence: Stickerbush Symphony ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=YgHk_N77DaA ) This DKC2 track has never really received any recognition and I don't get why. It is so uplifting and magical. A sailors jig, filled with wind and rain effects, it just sounds so epic. PLAY IT LOUD ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=lg9M0h1WVyA )Yumiko Kanki & Naoto Ishida are represented here with 8 tracks from the pulsating SNES racer, F-Zero. Holy crap listen to F-Zero's best known track: BIG BLUE ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=hUYn9gMHlmY ) Hajime Hirasawa brings us 4 Star Fox tracks (another huge game that started on the SNES). The Corneria theme actually sounds a bit like round music from Super Punch-Out!! You are not ready for this Corneria ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=vNwH9NcfbnA ) The Fox tracks I used are actually cuts from the Play It Loud US cd, and not the OST. The PIL cuts are shorter and have no voice effects, which really helps the tracks alot. The team of Hirou Tanaka, Kenji Yamamoto, and Minako Hamano bring us the ultra moody music of Super Metroid. God I love Brinstar. The redone Tetris & Dr. Mario are here with 8 tracks, really plays well against the All-Stars music too. And last but not least an entirley new way to play Tetris was brainstormed then released on the SNES in the form of Tetris Attack. 2 tracks from that game are on here acting as tent poles for each side. The Forest Stage theme is one of the best songs ever released for a puzzle game. Forest Stage PLAY IT LOUD( http://youtube.com/watch?v=rpRvww6Nf6A ) Looking at all the great games and characters that came out for the SNES, it's interesting to note that almost all the characters used for Nintendo's now flagship game Smash Brothers came from SNES. Captain Falcon from F-Zero, Star Fox, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, whew. The SNES is still the greatest system ever.Feedback:

Thanks, good to know.
SNES music is the best, I agree. The few things here I know I absolutely love, and I'd love to hear the rest. Is it a casette or 2 cds?
It is a cassette. But each video game album should really be treated as a double album, with each side being 1 part of 2 acts.
Too good for words.
I admire your dedication and research. This looks splendid..
