A Rare Moment of Perfect Clarity
Comment:
Songs that move me, even more so in collaboration with one another. I had something in mind about simultaneously looking to the future and waltzing with the past, of celebration and mourning, carrying on and on through the relative madness, but I don't know if I expressed it well. Probably not. Oh well. A few notes: I'm not a fan of MC Lars (couldn't stand that "punk rock" hit) but his "Passenger"-derived simplistic diatribe against the music industry somehow struck the right chord with me (maybe I just love vague profundity and Iggy Pop), and I've been listening to it incessantly for weeks. Also, if any of the songs or styles seem to clash, think of the mix as just a deranged amalgamation of my various personality tropes (of the many examples, I keep thinking mainly of the Huntingtons and Erasure tracks, which don't jive too well with the prevalence of reflective/folksy/rock music, but which I had to include for my love of them - plus they each have a certain time-specific meaning to me). That'll be my official excuse: this is just a splattering of Mike-isms. I think that's always my excuse, though. Well, at least I'm somewhat consistent.Feedback:
Good stuff. Great Zeppelin choices!
thanks for the window into , dare is say it, eternity?
should read > 'dare I say it'
What moves you is very interesting.
Lots to love -- esp. tracks 2 & 30 but it's all good.
That Van Morrison song certainly moves me in ways that I couldn't even articulate if I tried.
