Comment:

Originally this mix was made about 16 years ago into a 90 minute cassette, so (in converting it to CD) the last four songs are missing (they were as follows: He's Gone by the Grateful Dead, The Boys of Summer by Don Henley, Rambling Pony by Fleetwood Mac, and ending with Hey Little Cobra by the Rip Chords). I converted a bit over half of the songs used here from the tape (which was of the highest quality) into mp3 files and the sound quality is very good. Originally, these were from LPs and I had to slow the speed down a little with my Sound Forge software, because my belt drive dual turntable played my albums about 5% faster than it should have (I blame The Good Guys, a California home entertainment store, for that).Even though I had only one turntable, the mix came out really tight (with little space between tracks). I'm especially proud of how tracks 8-9 and 9-10 fit together. This mix was just one of many for my muse, an unrequited love that I had at the time.I'm again providing a link to the whole CD mix (on the first song title). If anyone is interested it is good for 25 downloads or 7 days (whichever comes first).

I haven't been back to 1990 for a while but on this evidence, pop life was alive & well . . .
LP's to tape to mp3 to CD to AOTM, what a long strange trip & where will it go next?
