Comment:

For Dead Man...
PREHISTORIC ORIGINS OF DNA
by Timothy Leary
Its rising is not bright
nor its setting dark

Unceasing, continuous
Branching out in roots innumerable
Forever sending forth the serpent coil
of living things
Mysterious as the formless
to which it returns

Twisting back
Beyond mind

We say only that it is form from the formless
Life from spiral void

-from Psychedelic Prayers

Totally cool to spot rarely seen faves from Plasticland, Feelies (someone reissue those LP's NOW!) and the absolutely devastating JPT Scare Band.

I'm looking forward to this link. Great Ride and Feelies picks (I'm with lo-fi on that reissue idea), among others.

As I sit listening to this, I'm missing those days in college sitting around drinking beer listening to records with fellow record lovers, letting the conversation go off in all sorts of directions. Having said that, I've never had that experience with someone with such a deep, cool collection as the gnome. Where do you find all this stuff? Looking over the list of artists, I've never even heard of half of them--makes me wonder how much great music is out there that I'll never hear. It's difficult to single out tracks--I love the trippy flow of this mix--but you've picked some of my favorites, particularly that Feelies track, but Plasticland and the Tadpoles are among my faves as well. We have to meet up some time and listen to records, gnome. I'll bring the beer.

I must admit to relative ignorance of psychodelia, but I'm really enjoying the education this mix is giving me.
