Continuing my run through my box of old compilations, promo discs, tribute albums, soundtracks, etc. All the garbage I don't have room for on the shelf. (Also see It Came From The Comp Issue #1.)

There's some great poop to be found on comps that take up shelf space. The Birdland cut is a killer way to open a mix, and just about everything else here kicks my butt. Especially the Cope, Posies, and Collins picks. And just seeing that Christmas song makes me want to burn more stuff to disc from vinyl so I can include it on mixes.

Hey, one man's garbage makes another man's fine mix... or something like that...

Nice! Those are some pretty good comps you've managed to pick up as this is a great tracklisting, especially the Jenny Lewis, Edwyn Collins and Posies picks. One of my favourite things is actually finding little gems on comps, which is why I also have a collection of random discs I've picked up!

Nice. I'd love to hear the Waco Bros tune, and you can never go wrong by starting with Birdland and ending with Julian Cope.

Looks great - just a quickie - is the Edwyn Collins a 'live/acoustic' version? If it is, I had that on a compo once that got missed place and I have been searching for it ever since.

Alas, no, the Edwyn Collins song is the original (from the Empire Records soundtrack, a mid-90s guilty pleasure worth it for that track, Evan Dando's cover of "El Goodo," and the Gin Blossoms song which I'm embarrassed to admit I really liked at the time).
