Comment:

I am posting this sort of after the fact. I was holding on simply because I had hoped to find a way to post / stream this so that members could download it if interested. It is a mix that really has to be heard to be appreciated. The problem is I am on dial up and to attempt to upload this file would take days probably. But I want to try to figure this out.

Anyway, this mix was designed to play for the first hour of a small concert event that was held in Pittsburgh last July. The promoter wanted me to DJ, but DJing before/during shows is always a bit of a pain (interuptions, etc). So I suggested I'd make him a ready made mix CD to play. He wanted some 'extremely creepy stuff.' The idea was to create a dark ethereal atmosphere without being too loungey or low key. I also tried to capture the disorienting aspects of nightmares, so the songs move from louder kind of apocalyptic bombasts to softer hallucinogenic type moments (as heard on the weird 'melting victrola' sounds of Black Tape and Christian Death).

Many of the songs are merely excerpts that blend into one another, or in some cases, there are two to even three songs layered on top of one another. The songs are listed in order of their appearance.
This turned out really cool and I hope to find a way to share it. Any suggestions would be welcome. Would You Send It be good for someone on dial up??

Thanks for looking!

Some cool stuff here, for sure, particularly the Nick Cave, Venetian Snares, Coil, TG, Swans and Cab Voltaire picks.
