Comment:
I've been so wrapped up in both the beauty of the female voice and this folksy, riding-off-into-the-sunset road trip vibe lately that I just had to combine the two for my first "normal" mix (aka gimmick-free) in a few weeks. In reality, as usual it's just the best of music I've been feeding off of lately, but I think there's a spiritual kinship running through all these songs that I don't easily achieve in my mixes. It just, I dunno, flows well for me. I had to put brand new New Pornos at the front, of course, but absolutely every one of these has been on non-stop repeat in my world for a while now. Couple notes: I'm just now re-discovering the pop music euphoria conjured by That Dog, while at the same time realizing what majestically pleasurable twee poppers both the Icicles and Eames Era are (seriously, you haven't heard gorgeous until you've checked out "Gedge's Song"). Wainwright's song from his idiosyncratic "Knocked Up" soundtrack might be one of the best things he's ever recorded. Cheers to another bountiful music summer :)Feedback:
Yeah welcome back summer, it's been an "Eternity" since you were here.
Los to like here too. Wasn't sold on the Eames Era disc myself but love almost everything else here.
this may actually convince me that summer ain't so bad - beautiful stuff all around
Ha, I love Anthony intro-ing for that Tom Petty track. Bright Eyes into Indigo Girls seems fitting, too. Looks good.
