Comment:

Perhaps this is a bit of an exaggeration on my part, but I feel like this is the most eccentric, most nuttiest, most wacked-out mix I've coughed up so far! I daresay that if this mix were a person, the men in white coats would have dragged its sorry ass, raving and kicking and proclaiming itself Napoleon Bonaparte, all the way to Arkham Asylum a long time ago! Yes, I know, to a great extent, it's very similar to my other mixes in terms of variety and eclecticism (albeit more or less within the rock genre), but at some point in the second half of Disc #1 and in the first half of Disc #2, things just go completely bonkers and we get into comedic garage/punk/novelty territory! In other words, I'm letting my silly side hang out this time around and having a bellyful o' larfs! However, it's not ALL fun and games...I mean, with an overall title cribbed from Morrissey and the Smiths, how could it be? And the last three songs bring the proceedings to a close on a decidely dark note, with the most macabre power ballad of '80s metal (courtesy of Motley Crue), an Alice In Chains song that could very well serve as late singer Layne Staley's epitaph, and finally Led Zeppelin's sad and bluesy ode to ennui and homesickness. I'd also like to give a warm shout-out to one Vlad The Accountant, to whom I wish to dedicate Track #6 on Disc #2!

Darth, you're getting a little hipper; I cite April March and the Elastik Band as evidence. Plus X, Smiths and that particular Monkees track ain't too bad either. And I want to own that Mumps single. Less Pearl Jam and more Jam and your rehabilitation will be nearly complete :)

Some interesting turns here (Iggy -> Nilsson -> AC/DC, Genesis -> Voidoids).
A most torturous path, well done.

Good picks from X, Ramones, Van Halen, and the Stones, and a stellar closer with Tea For One. And of course...Lard!
