Comment:

This mix is for a comrade who came out to me over the holidays. His lover of three years and he will be moving in together this spring and he wanted to share the good news with people he felt close to.Myself, having played trumpet in the San Francisco Gay Marching Band & Twirling Corp in its early days (late `70s to early `80s), could appreciate it a bit more than the average person and congratulated him on the partnership he has been blessed with.Well, this mix also signifies my coming out to the aotm community (but don't expect gay oriented mixes every week). I am open to making some such mixes in the future however so, if anybody has any positive selection suggestions, I'm all ears.I, for the most part, have stuck to a chronological list of songs that I believe most gay men can appreciate. All are sequential with the exception of tracks 6 & 7 on part I (because they mix a whole lot better when they switch places). If you access the mix via the link provided however, you will find the mix in it's original (totally) sequential order.
The picture is of Freddie Mercury of Queen performing the song "Don't Stop Me Now" (track 16).

Somewhere Over The Rainbow is one of my favourite songs. I love loads of this and I'm not even gay! Good luck to your friends, may I say when Kathryn moved in with me life got infinitely better, and I hope it does for them too.

Over The Rainbow is also one of my favorite songs (though I perfer Harry Nilsson's version). Your mixes hit the spot with everyone, whatever their pererences.

it doesn't get much better than tracks 1, 7, 8 or 16. everyone seems to think i'm gay (i can't count the number of times i've been asked out by gay men) - maybe it's the lisp & the fact that i'm a bit obsessed with morrissey? anyhow, great stuff.

That's where the boys are! A great collection of great anthems, I only wish I could hear them all performed by the SF Gay Marching Band & Twirling Corp . . .

Killer stuff, especially 8,9,12 and 16. Freddy Mercury was gay?
