Comment:
I put this together for a car ride with my best friend Katie. I tried to find a middle ground between my tastes and hers, so that it wouldn't be totally unlistenable to her. Again, there's a slight overlap with some of my other mixes, but that'll happen when I limit myself to what I think someone else would like. (Our ride ended up being a tad longer than expected, since I went several miles past our destination before I realized I'd gone too far. Sometimes the Indiana landscape can be pretty monotonous.)The combination of "White Dove" and "Gardenia" was included because I had just gone to a John Vanderslice/SM and the Jicks concert not long before I put this mix together. I wanted to show Katie what kind of music I heard there. I chose those two because they were the most memorable from that night.
"Semiotic Love" was included because Katie really likes Blaqk Audio. "All the Young Dudes" was a throwback to the time when we, as well as our other best friend Bo, went to see Juno after chatting at Steak n Shake for over two hours. Good times.
Katie commented not long into the mix about how different our tastes are. If she'd heard another mix, she'd realize that this mix is pretty mild in comparison. Well, I tried to find a compromise ^_^.
Feedback:
all the young dudes is always good times.
Some of this is just like heaven especially tracks 1,2, 12 and 13.
And Hold Tight rears its head yet again (ha, ha)!! It is a classic, no question there! ;-)
And All The Young Dudes and The Crystal Ship make a fantastic closing duo!
